Shipping Insurance Checkout Block

The Shipping Insurance Checkout Block is an optional Shopify Plus–exclusive feature. If you don’t need shipping insurance functionality, you can safely skip this setup.

This feature will only be available to stores on the Shopify Plus plan.

Key Setup Requirements

1. Dedicated Product for Insurance

   • You must create a product in your store specifically for shipping insurance.
   • The product handle must be exactly:

   shipping-insurance

   • If the product handle does not match this requirement, the checkout block will not function.

2. Checkout Block Configuration

   Once the product is created, you need to add the shipping insurance block to your checkout page:

   • Navigate to your Shopify admin and go to Customization (Theme Editor).
   • From the left sidebar, select the Apps section.
   • Click Add block and search for “shipping-insurance” from the Torosachi Subscription app blocks.

• Drag and drop the shipping-insurance block to your desired position on the checkout page.
• Click Save to apply the changes.

3. Checkout Display

   After completing the setup, customers will see the shipping insurance option on the checkout page:

• The block includes a checkbox that buyers can toggle:
  • Checked → The shipping insurance product is added to the buyer’s cart alongside their order.
  • Unchecked → The shipping insurance product is not added to the cart.

Buyer’s Point of View (POV)

From the customer’s perspective, the block will appear during checkout with a simple checkbox to opt-in or opt-out of shipping insurance. No additional configuration is required once setup is complete.
